April Favourites + POSTING SCHEDULE

Hello guys and welcome back! I’ve decided that there are going to be two blog posts every week now on Wednesdays and Fridays. So be sure to check back here on those days for more posts! But for now, here are some of the things I have been loving this month! These are my April favourites.

Creamy Lipsticks: Throughout February and March I had really gotten into the liquid lipstick craze. But I found that in April, it was so refreshing to return to a more creamy textured lipstick. My favourites are Charlotte Tilbury because not only are they beautiful quality, but they’re also cruelty-free. I used to wear lots of creamy textured MAC lipsticks, but obviously had to get rid of them when I went cruelty-free. The difference between Charlotte Tilbury and MAC lipsticks is mainly that I feel CT is very nourishing and light-weight, whereas MAC feels heavier on your lips, but will most likely stay on all night.

Fan Brush: I know I’m super late to the bandwagon here, but this month I started applying my highlighter with a fan brush and honestly my whole makeup game was changed. I’m completely in love with the fan brush!! If you’re into that minimal makeup look like I am, then you need to check it out, because it really doesn’t look cakey or like you’re wearing lots of makeup. It applies such a light layer. You can use a fan brush to apply highlight, contour, or finsihing powder

Oversized trend: I have been completeley obsessed with anything oversized this month. Oversized t-shirts, hoodies, jeans… I’ve worn them all. It’s just so incredibly comfortable and minimal effort is needed. To think I used to be the kind of girl who thought skinny jeans were appropriate loungewear. Ugh.

Lasula Jeans: I have never bought anything from lasula before however when I saw these jeans I just fell in love. I love the ripped effect and the embroidery. I wanted to buy them slightly oversized so I went a size up. And I love the oversized effect on the leg area but now they’re way too big on my waist, so will definitely need to wear a belt.
Check out Lasula Jeans here.

The Mortal Instruments Series: This month I’ve read City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass, and City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare, and I’ve been totally loving them! To be honest when I first opened City of Bones I didn’t really think I was going to like it based on the first few chapters, but that was probably because I loved A Court of Mist and Fury so much that nothing else compared! Once I got into The Mortal Instruments I was completely hooked. The plot twists just keep happening and I honestly have no idea what to believe about it anymore! (Also, hey Alec Lightwood, how you doin’?)  I had a similar moment when I started reading City of Fallen Angels because one of the big plots of the first three books was resolved in City of Glass, but they picked it up so amazingly and I can’t wait to read the last two books! Should I do a review of this series? Let me know!

You Are A Badass: I had heard great things about this Jen Sincero book. Usually, I get my motivational books as e-books using Audible so that I can listen to them while I’m working out or on public transport. I loved Jen’s book because there were so many elements of the Law of Attraction in it and it was seriously motivational. If anyone is feeling pretty shit or down lately, you definitely need to check out this book, it’ll make you feel like you need to get up and start hustling.

Once Upon A Time: Guys. My heart cannot handle this new series of OUAT. I’ve been a huge fan of the show for a long time now, and during this new series I just haven’t stopped crying. If you follow me on Twitter you know I have a ridiculously terrifying and unhealthy slight obsession with Rumplestiltskin, AKA Robert Carlyle. Why am I so attracted to him? I have no idea. But his storyline has been breaking my heart this series. If you aren’t watching this series yet, I don’t know what you’re doing with your life.

Shadowhunters: The TV series is so, so, so, SO much worse than the books, but it’s kind of a guilty pleasure of mine. And Isabelle Lightwood is like my spirit animal soooooooo I just had to watch it. It’s very different to the books but I think it’s still watchable. Although you might not really understand much about it if you haven’t read the books, but I did think that about all the Harry Potter films too, and people understand them just fine. So go for it!

The Happiness Peony Planner: I’ve been a fan of the Happiness Planner for two years. This year I bought myself the new Peony 100-Day Planner and I think it’s their best one yet! The interior is much the same with their sections for exercise, meals, to-dos, schedules, etc. But also the exterior is beautiful! I’ve had people mistake it for a clutch bag when I’ve had it out! I got the baby pink colour because I wanted to be able to find it easily in my bag but I think the black is also stunning and very chic. Plus the gold and rose gold pens are absolutely gorgeous!

Headspace App – Patience Program: I’ve been using the Headspace app for about seven months now and I love it! I’m currently meditating using the Patience program they have, and I’m finding it really great for centering the mind and also coming to terms with the limitations of our bodies. I think everyone could use a little more patience in their lives!

‘Breathe’ DoTERRA Essential Oil: This month my most used essential oil has been Breathe by DoTERRA. I find at the turn of the seasons when the weather changes, my hayfever can aggravate my asthma. Instead of using something like Vicks, I find this natural oil to be even MORE effective. It smells amazing and can be applied directly on to the chest because of the quality of DoTERRA oils. I don’t trust any other oil company to be applied directly onto my skin.

Calm Cards: I bought these cards about a year ago and I think they’re such a cute practical home decor piece! I leave these cards on my bookshelves and they’re super funny with calming quotes and philosophies written on them. I always reach for one in the morning as my daily intention.

So those were my April favourites! Let me know what you guys have been loving this month?

You definitely should! It was founded by an ex-Buddhist monk so he really knows his stuff when it comes to meditation! Hope you’re doing well lovely!
