My New Year’s Resolutions

Continuing with the New Year’s content, today it’s a more personal one! I am going to be showing you my own New Year’s resolutions and goals. I don’t think I’ll be sharing the ones that are more personal about my health and recovery, but there are lots that I’ll be telling you. And please let me know what your resolutions are! I love hearing what everyone wants to do in the year.

1. Learn sign language.

I would love to learn sign language this year. I don’t personally know anyone that I could communicate through sign language with as of yet, but I feel like you never know when you might need to talk with someone who uses it and I just think it would be a nice thing to know.

2. Read 75 books.

My Goodreads goal is a little lower than last year because I know I’m not going to have as much time this year to read as I did in 2017. But 75 books seems more than doable and I’m really excited to start my reading journal for this year.

3. Improve my Italian and German.

It is my goal to be completely fluent in both Italian and German by June 2019. So this year I need to put in a lot of groundwork to get those languages up to a good level!

4. Start horse-riding again.

I used to horse ride all the time when I was younger and in my early teens, and it’s something I really have missed in the last few years. I’m going to be going back to lessons this year for fun and I’m so excited for it!

5. Get my first (few) tattoos.

I’ve wanted to get some tattoos for such a long time now and this year is the year I’m going to start! I’ve been thinking for so long about what I want to get and I’m so sure I’ll love it.

6. Get my ears re-pierced.

I had my ears pierced when I was younger but I let them close up. I’ve heard lots of people say it’s quite painful to get them re-pierced due to the scar tissue, so I’m finally going to bite the bullet and do it this year.

7. Do a Christmas Day swim in the sea.

Apparently it’s a tradition in Ireland to get into the sea for a swim on Christmas Day. Specifically, this Christmas I would love to do the 40foot jump, but maybe it’ll be baby steps and just jumping from Clontarf pier!!

    These sound like great resolutions! I’m with you on the reading one, I want to get into a habit of reading books in the evenings rather than spend my time mindlessly scrolling through Twitter/Facebook!
