No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. That is an enormous Pixi Beauty Glow Tonic with my name written on the packaging. Is this for real?? Is this actually my life?! These were the thoughts running through my head when Pixi Beauty decided to add me to their PR list. Being completely honest I hadn’t tried a lot of Pixi products when they first sent me over their stuff. They also didn’t ask anything in return for sending me their products, I’m not obligated to even write this review, let alone say good things about them.
I can genuinely say now that Pixi Beauty is one of my favourite brands. It’s very rare that I like both the makeup and the skincare from one particular brand – usually brands either get one or the other right. Yet Pixi seem to be a rare-breed of brand that just nail everything they set their hands to. You can see my reviews of their Matte Last Liquid Lipsticks as well as their Rose Caviar Essence.
This product in particular is absolutely packed with goodness for your skin. Glycolic acid to gently exfoliate, ginseng which energies the complexion, and aloe vera to help hydrate and soothe the skin. What’s also incredibly is that this product works on all skin types and has never been tested on animals. Pixi are a cruelty-free makeup brand and a lot of their products are vegan. A quick Google search will show you which products are vegan! Personally this is a quality that I think is really admirable in a brand, and I love when they take a proud stance against animal cruelty.
The Review of Pixi’s Glow Tonic
Personally I don’t really like toners that smell really strongly of alcohol. But this one doesn’t even have much of a scent, if anything is reminiscent of rose or syrup. As well as that, it feels incredibly light on the skin. Again I’m not much of a fan of those toners that feel like they’re weighing down on your skin. This honestly feels like it’s cleansing your skin and soothing too. Having said that, as with most toners you definitely need to moisturise afterwards because it can dry out your skin ever so slightly. Yet unlike other toners, this doesn’t feel like it tightens your skin at all. Always a plus!
You only need a tiny amount of product too as it spreads really well and just glides onto the skin. I’ve been using it every day this week and my skin feels incredible!
I’m quite lucky and can honestly say that I don’t suffer with my skin at all. I never get breakouts and it’s very rare I even get the odd spot. The last spot that I had was four months ago, just over my right eyebrow. Not being very used to having spots I did exactly what you’re not meant to do and kept poking around at it. So of course, four months later I’m still left with the scar. When I’ve had these before I find that they just fade with time. But using this glow tonic has actually reduced mine a bit. Maybe it’s a coincidence but I thought it was worth mentioning!
Overall I absolutely adore this Glow Tonic. Pixi very kindly sent me an alternative lid for it too in pump style which I will definitely be using, as I find holding the packaging upside down releases too much product that ends up going to waste. I think I have enough Glow Tonic here for a year!
Thanks Pixi, for sending me what is now one of my absolute skincare essentials. I will definitely be repurchasing when this bottle runs out!
Have you tried Pixi beauty yet? What are some of your favourite skincare products?
