Space Masks | Interstellar Relaxation

With constant access to the world through the internet, it can be so difficult to actually ‘switch off’. So many of us suffer from insomnia, and anxiety creeps up on us at night that leads us tossing and turning in our bed replaying the events of the day, wondering if we did something wrong.

Personally I find it quite hard to get to sleep a lot of nights, especially as I do like to get up very early at about 5:00am, so I need to go to sleep quite early. Normally I do a 30 minute deep muscle relaxation meditation to really try and send my body off into a state of relation. But sometimes, it’s just not enough. So I’ve been really looking for some more aids on how to get to sleep naturally.

Harriet from Space Masks got in contact with me recently and very kindly offered to send me some of their masks to try out. Obviously, I was so delighted and really keen to try them!

They come in a beautiful little packaging bag and promise “transport you to another dimension – relieving tiredness, eye strain and many other Earthy tensions.  I tried them out just last night and I loved how soothing they felt on my eyes. I was slightly worried as normally being too warm makes me anxious, but the mask wasn’t too triggering for this. Although I did take it off after a few minutes, let myself cool down, and then reapply it.

Space Masks are absolutely perfect if you’re working somewhere where you get very tired eyes, i.e. looking at a computer screen all day, or reading lots of papers or books. It combines comfort and practicality in the design, and although you definitely do notice it on your face, it is quite soothing and makes up for it in my opinion.

Of course, if you experience anxiety with heat like I do, proceed with caution and don’t wear the mask for too long. The heat lasts for 15 minutes, I took mine on and off for that duration of time. I know this kind of defeats the purpose of soothing you to sleep, but it was still very relaxing and made my eyes feel much more relaxed after use.

You can find and purchase Space Masks on their website here.

Honestly I think it would make a lovely gift for someone! It’s something a lot of people wouldn’t necessarily buy for themselves, so receiving it would be a really nice little gift or stocking filler if you’re already thinking that far ahead!
