Goals seem to be all anybody is talking about at this time of year (myself included!). But why do we even need them?? Goals are what keeps us striving and on track in life. Anyone can be a dreamer, and daydream about your perfect life, your perfect job, and everything you want to achieve. But without goals, manifesting them isn’t going to come very easily.
The first step to setting goals is asking yourself what you want to do. This is the easy part! Maybe you want to complete a degree by the time you’re 25. Or maybe you want to be able to run a marathon by June.
The next step is breaking up that big goal into smaller, timed goals. How are you going to be able to run a marathon by June? Maybe this week you could start going on a 30 minute walk everyday, and gradually increase the length and your pace until June.
Goals are important because they help us to set a direction for our years. And don’t get me wrong, they are absolutely subject to change! Sometimes what you thought was a priority doesn’t actually end up being that important to you, and that’s perfectly okay! But having goals in place can really help in terms of your own self-development and growth.
What goals have you set yourself for the New Year? Are you working on any long-term goals at the moment?
